London Eye and House of Parliament on the Thames River and New Viewbug Photo Contest

My favorite Europe trip picture was taken in London. A couple of months ago, it was awarded a "Well Done" badge on Viewbug.com. Check it out here: Juliana Gallardo by julianagllrdo

I will be submitting my favorite Switzerland picture to Viewbug.com "500 Mountains Photo Contest" limited to only 500 entries tomorrow. This picture was taken last September when I visited Hopgarten in the Swiss Alps. Switzerland is by far the greenest, cleanest, and most pristine country I have ever seen.

The photograph was taken with my iPhone4 and filtered with the Camera+ app.

Good night!

My first this year...

Below is the first picture I took this year and it was on New Years Day. The day was extremely sunny, clear, and just beautiful, so clear you can even see the Channel Island off the coast in the photograph. I snapped my picture with my iPhone 4 camera and modified the colors and template to make it more personalized by adding my name on Camera +. Camera+ and Pixlromatic are my favorite photo filters out there. If you have any other suggestions please email me or comment below. Also, I'm looking into copyrighting some of my photographs and currently doing some research on that.

P.S: I just got to work. It's Wednesday and I can already start feeling the work week catching up to me. I recently got a job with Habitat for Humanity and I couldn't be more happier to be part of a worldwide organization that carries forth its mission through providing home opportunities to those without decent, safe places to live :) Check out our website: http://www.habitat.org/

Have a great day!

I'm back!!! First 2013 Post and ViewBug.com Photography Awards

My second to last post was almost a year ago - July 2012 and now that I'm posting up a new post I realize that I am finding myself where I was then now. I need to remember to reflect on the past and know "those" experiences will help me overcome my next obstacle. Life is always a continued journey of self discovery, learning, and of ups and downs --- and what is a good way to capture your journey of ups and dows, the good and the bad? Photographs. Don't think I have stopped taking pictures if I sound like I am in a deep rabbit hole, darken state: Wrong (which I'm not by the way)!
I will start posting so much more. In the meantime, I want to direct you to my profile at Viewbug.com: http://www.viewbug.com/member/julianagllrdo

Viewbug.com is a photography blog where you can post pictures, enter them into contests, and gain exposure. I've entered some of my pictures, but I've only made it to the Top 10 and Top 20 tiers. Still striving for number one! Check my awards along with my photographs, here: http://www.viewbug.com/member/julianagllrdo#/julianagllrdo/awards

Live and Always Learn

Live and learn from life-experiences, especially when you fall-down. Don't use previous mistakes as excuses when trying to get up in order to achieve your "happiness" - especially at someone else's expense. Reflect on the past and know those experiences will help you overcome the next obstacle. Mid-year 2012 has made me realize life is a continued journey of learning.

Starting to sense a theme...

It seems like I have been spending all my free time at the beach. For some reason, the camera has been driving me there recently. I've realized I'm lucky living next to the ocean and should take more advantage of my surroundings -- as a lot of people may not be so lucky as I am :-)

Anyways, I snapped these yesterday during my jog with my iPhone camera and modified with the Camera+ iPhone app.
